Loud Shirt Day

On Friday 17th September we have loud shirt day. We have Tye dyed some t-shirts with Mrs Sattrup to wear on loud shirt day. If you go to Kimihia you can wear your brightest and wackiest t-shirt to school. Just bring a gold coin. Best of all:all proceeds go to the deaf children!

Art

On Fridays we have a great teacher come in and teach us, her name is Mrs Sattrup. One of the things she has been teaching us is art. She is teaching us about tone. Tone is when you have a base colour and shades a little darker and a little lighter. You make a colour a shade lighter by adding different amounts of white to the colour, depending on how much of a lighter shade you want it.You make a colour darker by adding different amounts of black to the colour, depending on how much of a darker shade you want it. Examples of tone coming soon...

Senior Cross Country Evaluation

On Wednesday we had Senior School cross country. Unfortunately I did not take part as I was at the power station on a science trip. However I did take part in training and I believe that my fitness has improved as the unit progressed. In the beginning I liked Short distance running more than cross country but my stamina has slowly gotten better as we continued training.I have never really liked running(and still don't)but I enjoy running with a friend and find this helps me learn to pace myself. I have never done well in cross country and find it difficult to run but I do sometimes run in my spare time if I feel like I need fresh air.I think I did well in training and now feel more able to run long distances. I would like to be able to run fast but do not wish to go out of my way to achieve this. Overall I think I have put good effort into my training for Cross Country.

poll

It looks like most people voted "All the time" on my poll. I personally think police should only carry guns for dangerous jobs. Scroll down and listen to my speech, see if I can convince you that this is the right answer!

Hello everyone

Today we have just welcomed our new school principal, Mrs Ratana. I am sure she will love Kimihia school and we all gave her a warm welcome in today's Powhiri.

For my science fair project I am testing how much bacteria is on different brands of dishcloth's. I have come 1st in the school science fair and I hope to achieve well in the Waikato science fair. I found out that the antibacterial scotch brite sponge is best to use and the standard scotch brite sponge has the most bacteria. Take a look at these petri dishes, the yellow stuff is bacteria. Pretty gross, huh?

Hello everyone. Lately we have been doing speeches. My topic is:Should police be able to carry guns on their persons. What do you think?
